Funeral walk

At this point in the tour, the thicket of cypress trees hides the terracing of the garden which, at this level, continues to display a complex and eclectic symbolist discourse. A sort of avenue flanked by tall cypress trees leads to the darkest place, where the burial mound of a Castilian nun, who died in 1603 at the age of 80, is located, according to her burial inscription. This piece of fine workmanship and Castilian Renaissance art comes, apparently, from a convent in Salamanca.
